What are blackheads and are skin peels the best way to get rid of them? Why do I get them and How can i treat them? Red Lotus in Portland, Oregon talks about blackheads.
Blackheads are a feature of acne, a common skin condition that involves lesions frequently referred to as pimples, spots, zits, whiteheads or blackheads. Blackheads are a specific kind of dark acne lesion, so-called because they contain oxidized melanin, the pigment made by skin cells called melanocytes.
Skin peels and retinols are great product to use to help soften and exfoliate the skin allowing those blackheads to come out or easily be extracted. Don't use an abrasive scrub to try and get them out, this can cause more damage to the skin. When extracting, make sure you know how to properly do so because improper extracting can cause scarring which is even harder to help. When you have skin peels they just take the black heads out by loosening the compacted skin without picking and scaring the skin surface like extractions do.
