What does sun damage really look like. At Red Lotus Skin Care Salon we really try to explain the importance of daily SPF. "It is not just about summer", explains master Aesthetician Patricia Barnett. "It's about accumulative damage, UVA exposure daily, that goes through the clouds here in Portland, Oregon and you don't even realize it. We are so dark and cloudy most of the year my clients often admit they just skip sun block, but this video show you what is happening in the skin layers down below that show up years later. It is so easily avoided by just starting a daily habit of SPF moisturizer and it can feel and smell like nothing is even on your skin for those of us who say it is too heavy or smelly."
Written by Jessica Cruel If you're still making excuses about sunscreen, maybe this video will change your mind. Artist Thomas Leveritt had women and men of all ages view their faces under an ultraviolet lens, and the results were shocking! An ultraviolet camera is like the truth serum of skin care: it shows both your future and your past. Too much time unprotected in the sun or in the tanning bed reveals freckles, age spots, and sun damage. These spots aren't visible to the naked eye but can appear over time. On the other hand, children (or vigilant sunscreen wearers) appear flawless.Dermatologists have told us time and time again that SPF is the greatest defense against aging. Under an ultraviolet camera, it shows up as a black barrier against UVA and UVB rays. So, the big takeaway? Put on a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day, not just on beach vacations or during sunny Summer Saturdays. You'll be glad you did when those brown spots never rise to the surface. In the meantime, see your dermatologist to get any moles checked for melanoma.
Are you looking for a quick and easy way to enhance your eyes? Lash tinting and eye brow tinting are easy and a dramatic pick me up for your look. Red Lotus skin peels and lash extensions, in Portland specializes in eye lash tinting. Just 20 minutes to dark lashes. Many blonds and red-heads love this monthly service to really make your eyes pop! We use a safe and approved vegetable dye on both the eyelashes and the eyebrows for added definition," Says Patricia master aesthetician from Red Lotus. "During a brow tinting, an Aesthetician first applies protective gel to the skin surrounding the hair. This protects the skin and prevents the dye from bleeding onto it. Then the tint is painted directly onto the brow or lash. The dye sets for 10 to 20 minutes, and any residue is gently removed by rinsing with water. Keep in mind, the tint doesn't work like a tattoo. The dye only colors the existing hairs." *Quick service, takes about 20 minutes!*Variety of colors for any client.*Makes your existing lashes stand out.
One thing I cannot stress enough is safety for eyelash extensions. Something that is very important for eyelash extensions is the type of glue that's used. Ophthalmologist, Doctor Janina, has a video talking about what to not look for in a glue when thinking about getting lash extensions. Most glues made overseas are not FDA approved. It is important to use a glue that i formaldehyde free. If your lashes are shedding quickly, that can be a sign that there was too much glue used because it is weighing down the natural eyelash.
