Brightening Facial:

"Dull," "ashy," and "tired" are three words no one wants used to describe her skin. A brightening facial usually involves a combination of masks, enzyme peels, and acid treatments to remove dead-skin buildup. The result? Dewy, megawatt glow-y skin.

What is the difference between Volume & Classic lash extensions? Red Lotus Skin and Lash Salon in Beaverton,Or is talking about the difference

Classic Lashes- A method where 1 lash extension is glued to 1 natural lash. This method is also known as 1 to 1 or 1:1. Classic lashes are perfect for clients who already have a lot of lashes, but want to add more length. Classic lashes look more natural.

Volume (3D) lashes- When multiple lashes are applied to one single natural eyelash individually isolating one natural eyelash at a time. Using very thin lashes. If two eyelash extensions are applied to one natural lash it’s described as 2D, if three eyelash extensions are applied to one natural eyelash then it’s described as 3D etc.

What are my choices for lash extension shape, length, & curl? Red lotus skincare and lash salon in Beaverton,Or is talking about the curl, thickness & length they offer.

Types of eyelash extensions
• Generally, the thicker/longer your own lashes, the thicker and longer extension that can be applied. Very thin/sparse natural lashes should have a finer, shorter extension so as not to weigh them down. Curled lashes are great for creating volume without too much weight
• Those with straighter lashes (particular Asian hair types) should opt for a curled lash, as it will really make the eyes pop and lift up the natural lash line, rather than dragging it down.
• Those with rounder/larger eyes benefit from our ‘cat-eye’ look – applying more/longer lashes to the outer corner of the eyes. This elongates the eyes for a very sexy look!
• Almond shaped eyes don’t often suit the cat-eye look, but look beautiful with a longer lash extensions applied to the middle of the eye, to widen it.
• Those with deep set eyes usually require longer extensions with not as much curl, and often benefit from having a full set rather than glam set, as glam sets on smaller or deep-set eyes can look over-done.
• Our glam sets are the most stunning looking lash extensions, and are incredibly popular with brides as well as girls going on holidays and wanting a long-lasting look (normally you get an extra week between infills with a glam set).
• Those with large eyes, dark thick hair and/or lots of natural lashes are recommended to go with the glamour set, as more lashes are applied, which will result in a fuller and longer lasting look. Hey – if you’ve got it, flaunt it, I say!
• Mature ladies wishing to lengthen their lashes but still look natural may opt for a finer extension type in a shorter length, or even our silk extensions which are soft and lightweight
• Semi-sets are great for those who already have long dark lashes but are looking for something to add a bit of sparkle and flair out the corners.
• Coloured highlights are great for the adventurous, but can be quite subtle too – violet and navy highlights are very popular, and colours can be selected to compliment your iris colour.
• Shorter. finer full set lashes are most suitable for guys (yes we do ‘Guylashes!’) trying our extensions and not wanting the effect to be too obvious)

A correctly applied set of lashes should feel comfortable and lightweight and you will not know that you are wearing them. The treatment should be pain-free and relaxing, with most clients falling asleep.

Here at Red Lotus Skincare & Lash Salon we understand that you may want to change the appearance of your sets over the weeks. Some clients may have a special event to go to and require longer lengths for a period of time etc. Our team will always assist you with any adjustments needed at your infill, to create the look perfect for you. However, please note that if your adjustment is extreme, then you may require a removal and a full set, due to the different type of extensions required.

Within reason, however here at Red Lotus Skincare we can only work from a platform of natural lashes, therefore clients must have realistic expectations of what we can safely achieve on them.

If you are blessed with a good set of strong natural lashes then you will achieve a fuller look, where as if you have naturally sparse lashes then your set will look more natural.

We can only apply one extension to one natural lash, with eyelash extensions only enhancing what you have; they do not create something out of nothing.

However, we offer a large lash menu and use a variety of advanced and clever techniques to create extra fluff and density (if requested) within your sets. Every set of extensions that we apply here at Red Lotus Skincare & Lash Salon is styled and shaped for the individual client.

Each set applied is custom created for the client with the correct thickness, length and curl used. All of this is discussed at your client consultation.

Our eyelash extensions do not look fake, and we pride ourselves on quality work, where no one should know that your extensions are not your own.

We will never overload your natural lashes or cause damage.

Each client has their own unique vision of what eyebrows should look like.  Selecting an eyebrow style or technique must be matched to the individual client, their goals, their needs.  I never do a “cookie cutter” approach.  There is no one right or best style except the one that is best for  YOU!

Sometimes eyebrows suffer from fads. Skinny little lines or big fat brows that nearly meet in the middle of the nose.  Neither is a great choice for permanent cosmetics.  Yes, permanent makeup fades, but it takes a long time, years to completely go away. In the mean time you are stuck.  Changing brows once they are in place is very difficult. The end result will be better, but not as good as it could have been if done right the first time.

Your face, your bones dictate the best brow shape and placement for you.  If we don’t respect the bones, the brows don’t age as well.  You want them to look fabulous today, next month and years from now. I always take before and after photos so we can see you in your current makeup, without makeup, and the finished result.  I measure and mark, with your input. We design them together.

Brows should always be measured and marked – not done freehand.  You get a much better outcome. Why? Because everyone’s face is asymmetrical.  We want to give the illusion of them looking more alike but respecting the bones.  Together we evaluate your goals, your skin and come up with a plan to get your look.

Microblading is a current marketing style.  It is individual hair strokes which has been done for over 20 years.  The key difference is it is done with what they call a blade. But is is not really a blade. It is a manual tool with a single row of needles.  The skin is stretched taunt and the blade drawn across the skin in a slicing action. Done too superficially, it fades away in 4-6 weeks. Done too deeply, it can scar. Each hair is applied in a single stroke, not reinforced.  The finished look is individual hairs with skin showing through between. Because the strokes are not reinforced this technique requires at least annual re-enhancement.

Hair strokes: This technique can be done with a manual, or motor driven device. It uses a single row of needles like microblading. Hair strokes are implanted one at a time. Some may be reinforced for better hold. For a natural look strokes may be done in different directions. This technique needs re-enhancement every 18-24 months.

The Blend: This technique is done either with a manual or motor driven device. Needle choices are slightly broader.  Hair strokes are implanted and then portions of the brow, where hair naturally grows more dense are reinforced so the end effect is natural looking, with some hair strokes showing and some blended. Typically re-enhancement is 2-3 years.
Powder fill: If you are used to seeing yourself wearing pencil filled brows, this may be the look you really want. While the pigment is still implanted in hair strokes, they are closer together. Healed, the finished look is you in well designed, makeup. Skin does not show between the strokes. Some clients think they want the hair strokes, but don’t like the “holes” between them where skin shows through.  Re-enhancement varies from 2-5 years depending on many factors.

Shaded: This can be done with any of the other techniques.  It uses multiple shades of color to create highlighting along the top of the brow and shading along the bottom to give it more three dimensional feel.

I only use lash extension mascara on my tips just before a fill is needed to help hold my lashes in place when they get wonki, otherwise it is best to refrain from mascara.  For eye liner and eye shadow use only powder types, no oil or cream makeup.  The will interfere with your lash extension bonds, causing sticking and or premature lash loss.

EYELASH EXTENSIONS FOR YOUR EYE SHAPE
It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to applying eyelash extensions.
When eyes are deep-set they are located deeper in the eye socket than others, creating the illusion of a more prominent brow bone. I recommend a natural curl using longer extensions.

How to clean your lash extensions.  The owner of Red Lotus Skin and Lash Salon, Patricia Barnett, explains the best ways to maintain fuller looking lashes for a longer time.

Patricia says the best way is to use the recommended lash cleaner you can find at her salon by Lavish Lashes, the Lash and Brow Cleanse.  You want to take your spoolie you received from the salon, and dip into the lash cleanser, have a bowl of warm water and a fresh towel ready off to the side.  Once you have the spoolie coated with cleanser you want to gently brush though your lashes, with your eye closed to decrease risk of hurting your eye.  After your lashes are coated with the cleanser, take your spoolie and dip it into the warm water, now, brush through your lashes again, rinsing them.  Blot your lashes with the fresh towel, repeat those two steps with the water and the towel until you feel your lashes are clean.
