Why am I sensitive to eyelash extensions? Red Lotus Skincare Salon in Portland, Oregon talks about eyelash extension sensitivity.
There are many ways your body can tell you if you've had an allergic reaction. Here are the most common symptoms of eyelash extension sensitivity.
Irritation and redness can occur if you are sensitive to the glue, tape or under eye pads the technician is using. Pad irritation usually shows up on the lower part of the eye rather than the top. If you are sensitive to shellac or acrylic nails, you can be sensitive to the glue for extensions.
Inflammation and swelling occurs because of glue, tape or under eye pads. Swelling is usually traced back to glue. We recommend taking a month break and then possibly trying again.
Infection,Extensions can trap dirt and bacteria, leading to serious infections, including pink eye if not cleaned properly! Cleaning eyelash extensions is the most important part of eyelash extensions! Simply cleanse with baby shampoo every day to avoid any infections.
As always, we recommend only seeing licensed Aestheticians and licensed lash technicians to avoid any of the above problems. If you would like to schedule an appointment, we recommend scheduling a patch test and consultation at least 48 hours before to check for any allergies.
