I'm frustrated with my sparse eyebrows! What is eyebrow tattooing? Is eyebrow tattooing right for me? Red Lotus in Beaverton, Oregon talks eyebrow tattooing!Read Now
Judith Culp, the cosmetic tattoo artist at Red Lotus talks about what to expect from your eyebrow tattooing.
"Are you frustrated with your eyebrows? Are they sparse or missing? Do you find putting them on every morning a frustrating challenge? Maybe it is becoming more difficult to see to put them on? Do they come out crooked or uneven? Do your penciled brows wear off during the day? If you are experiencing any of these challenges I can help. As a makeup artist and permanent makeup technician with over 30 years experience, I have the background and experience to help you wake up every morning with great eyebrows.
For all of the reasons mentioned and many, many more, women all over are finding that permanent eyebrows are perfect for them. They are freeing themselves from the daily chore of putting on their eyebrows. Regardless of your preferences I can create a brow for you. My most common client comment is, “I don’t know why I waited so long to do this, they look great.” For some clients I only provide a basic guideline they can follow because they like to stay in control and add their own pencil touches. But for most women it is creating a brow that even their closest friends won't believe are not your own. I work with you to analyze your needs, your bone structure and your personal preferences. I don't “eyeball” your work. I measure and mark to make sure you have the most flattering brows possible. Brows that will look great today and age gracefully with you. Whether you need sparse brows filled, missing spaces filled, or a total brow creation, I can take care of you.
There are different styles and shapes of brows. Your own bone structure tells me what that brow should ideally be shaped like. We let your bones guide the way to assure the prettiest brow that flatters your face. There are also different coloration techniques. Powdery filled brows are softly filled in and have very good staying power. They are most like you’ve used a bit of powder to fill them in. Hair stroke techniques are designed to simulate individual hairs. These require the most frequent maintenance. And there are combinations of the two techniques. Your individual skin and personal preferences will influence what combination will be used.
The shades that make up brown colors are probably the most fragile in the tattoo pigment family. They are not the intense clear colors of traditional tattooing. Because of this, they tend to fade more quickly than the colors used for body art. After the procedure we recommend protecting your eyebrows by wearing SPF on a daily basis. Many things can affect the color last including UV exposure, lifestyle, health issues, medication and more. Over time the pigment bleaches and appears faded. It didn't go away, it just got bleached by UV. We recommend a re-enhancement when you notice fade. Typically our clients get a re-enhancement every 2-5 years. This treatment is a single visit where we just refresh the color and is at half price. Permanent cosmetics are less expensive than Botox – and last years instead of months.
Corrective pigmentation to “fix” or repair previous work is typically more challenging than doing the initial procedure and may require multiple visits. I need to meet with you for a complimentary consultation to see what you have and develop a plan to help you get where you want to be. Fortunately, with the new quality pigments that have been on the market for the past decade we don’t see the odd undertones that plagued the industry in its early years. Your brows will just soften to a lighter shade of the color I implant."
